This week the Federal Government announced a significant investment in the budget towards the development of Middle Arm into a globally competitive, sustainable precinct with a focus on low emission petrochemicals, renewable hydrogen, carbon capture storage and minerals processing.
The precinct’s strategic location provides direct access to Darwin Harbour, and is connected to the Territory’s logistics network, including road and rail, as well as Darwin’s international airport. The Precinct will furthermore centralise and elevate the Territory’s energy industries, to become a globally competitive, sustainable precinct focusing on low emissions petrochemicals, renewable hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and minerals processing.
The project is currently in the design phase, and has been referred to the NT EPA which is expected that the referral will be open to public comment shortly.
The whole program around Middle Arm is pivotal to so much happening around the entire Territory, not just in the outlying area around Darwin. It’s worth getting across the moving feast. See more
